Dear Alexander,

Thank you for inviting me to the planning meeting for the Advanced Business English course. I'm excited to contribute my ideas on potential topics that would be most beneficial for marketing students. Based on my experience and research, I believe the following business English skills would be invaluable for individuals pursuing a career in marketing:

  1. Effective Communication: Marketers must be able to articulate their ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing. This involves mastering various communication strategies, such as using active voice, bias-free language, and audience awareness.;

  2. Presentation Skills: Marketers frequently deliver pitches, presentations, and marketing campaigns to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Developing strong presentation skills, including storytelling techniques, visual aids, and engaging delivery, can increase the impact and persuasiveness of their marketing efforts.

  3. Negotiation and Persuasion: Effectively communicating and negotiating marketing strategies, contracts, and partnerships are essential skills in marketing. Learning to craft persuasive communication, active listening, and problem-solving strategies will help marketing professionals navigate complex business situations.

  4. Cross-Cultural Sensitivity: In today's global marketplace, marketers often work with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Understanding cultural nuances, open-mindedness, and adaptability can help marketing professionals build stronger relationships and create more effective marketing campaigns.

These skills can help marketing students develop a strong foundation in business English and boost their professional growth in the industry. I look forward to discussing these topics further in the upcoming planning meeting and collaborating with you and Charlotte to create a comprehensive and effective course curriculum.

Best regards,

Emily Turner
