Armin Stahl studied Computer Science at the University of Kaiserslautern with focus on Artificial Intelligence. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as a scientific assistant in the research group "Artificial Intelligence - Knowledge-Based Systems" directed by Prof. Michael M. Richter where he finished his Ph.D. in the area of Case-Based Reasoning in 2003. Since 2004 he is the deputy director of the Image Understanding and Pattern Recognition Department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) GmbH. In this function he is responsible for the acquisition and coordination of the department's project activities. Moreover he holds regular lectureships on case-based reasoning at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and held a guest lectureship on applications of databases at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in 2007/08. His major research interests are case-based reasoning, recommender systems, content-based image and video search, machine learning, and pattern recognition.
