Dr. Kinga Schumacher studied computer science at the University of Mannheim and received a doctorate from the University of Potsdam.
Since June 2006, she works as a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH). Her research projects are focussing on
intelligent information systems including backend search technologies as well as user interface and interaction design.
She was involved in several research projects in the domain of ambient assisted living (e.g. SmartSenior, LeVer or MoreCare) developing user group specific design guidelines, style guides and the concrete user interfaces.
Kinga Schumacher's current research activities focus on the development of user-group specific, multimodal interaction design for software as well as ambient sensors and actuators.
