A) Extensible Markup Language (XML) as W3C standard for self-describing data, knowledge interchange, and information integration. Foundations in grammars and logic. Techniques of Document Type Definition (DTD) for XML elements and attributes. XML query languages. Resource Description Framework and RDF/XML Schema. Applications for mathematics (MathML), functional-logic programming (RFML), ontologies (XOL), information agents (DAML), and business rules (BRML).
